Position Overview
AB InBev is seeking a qualified Packaging Operator to join its team in Arusha, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining packaging equipment and processes to ensure consistent product quality, maximum production throughput, and minimum waste while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Purpose of the Role
To operate and maintain packaging equipment and production processes in order to:
- Achieve consistent product quality.
- Maximize production throughput.
- Minimize production waste.
- Maintain safe and efficient plant operations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Packaging Process Operation
The Packaging Operator will:
- Operate packaging processes efficiently.
- Ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.
- Monitor equipment performance during production.
2. Machine Operation
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Machine start-up.
- Machine shutdown.
- Running packaging operations.
- Managing production waste during operations.
3. Brand and Pack Changes
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting brand and packaging changeovers.
- Ensuring changeovers are completed efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
4. Health, Safety & Environment
The Packaging Operator will:
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
- Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Promote safe operating practices at all times.
5. Cleaning & Maintenance
Responsibilities include:
- Performing in-depth cleaning of packaging equipment.
- Carrying out first-level maintenance.
- Ensuring equipment remains in good operating condition.
6. Process Monitoring & Quality Control
The role includes:
- Monitoring packaging process performance.
- Conducting routine quality checks.
- Monitoring production inputs and outputs.
- Taking corrective action whenever process deviations occur.
- Ensuring products consistently meet quality standards.
7. Team Participation & Communication
The Packaging Operator will:
- Participate actively in team activities.
- Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
- Contribute to problem-solving initiatives.
- Support teamwork and continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements
Education
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical.
Experience
- Experience working in a packaging process environment.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
