Role Overview

The School Counsellor will support students’:

  • Emotional well-being
  • Social development
  • Academic success

This role is central to student welfare, safeguarding, and holistic development within the school.


Key Responsibilities

1. Guidance & Counselling

  • Provide individual and group counselling
  • Address emotional, behavioral, and social challenges

2. Case Management

  • Identify at-risk students
  • Maintain proper documentation and follow-ups

3. Student Development

  • Run programs on:
    • Life skills
    • Emotional resilience
    • Social development

4. Behavioral Support

  • Handle conflict resolution
  • Support discipline and behavior management

5. Academic Support

  • Guide students on academic challenges
  • Support overall student performance

6. Safeguarding & Child Protection

  • Ensure student safety and well-being
  • Respond to crises and sensitive cases

7. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work with:
    • Teachers
    • Parents
    • School leadership

8. Reporting & Monitoring

  • Track student progress
  • Prepare counselling reports

9. Professional Development

  • Stay updated with best practices in counselling and child support

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Psychology
    • Guidance & Counselling
    • Education
    • Social Work
    • Or related field
      (Master’s degree is an advantage)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3–4 years working with children/adolescents

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • High level of confidentiality and ethics
  • Ability to support emotional, behavioral, and academic needs

Additional Requirements

  • Gender: Female only
  • Preferred Age: 35–40 years
  • Must be ready to start immediately (May 2026)
