Job Overview

Isamilo International School is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) to lead and coordinate the provision of support for students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) across the school.

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in promoting an inclusive learning environment and ensuring students receive appropriate academic, social, emotional, and personal support.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the school’s SEND provision in line with school policies and international best practices.
• Identify students requiring additional support and coordinate appropriate interventions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other support strategies.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support learners effectively.
• Provide staff guidance and training on inclusive teaching strategies and classroom differentiation.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate SEND records and documentation.
• Advise the Senior Leadership Team on SEND matters, policy development, and compliance.
• Promote an inclusive learning environment that supports the overall development and wellbeing of students.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• A recognised teaching qualification and valid professional registration.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience, including proven experience supporting learners with SEND.
• Strong knowledge of inclusive education practices and intervention strategies.

Added Advantages

The following qualifications and experience will be highly desirable:

• Additional qualification or certification in Special Educational Needs, Inclusive Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience in leadership, coordination, or learning support.
• Experience working in an international school.
• Experience with the Cambridge International Curriculum.
