Position Overview
Tanzania Commercial Bank is focused on delivering affordable, accessible, and innovative financial services. This role is central to that mission, leading the design, development, and performance of retail banking products.
The Senior Manager – Product is responsible for building customer-centric product bundles and digital financial solutions that drive revenue growth, efficiency, and strong customer experience.
Position Objective
The role holder will:
- Design and implement product bundles across retail and SME segments
- Manage the full product lifecycle from development to post-launch review
- Optimize existing products to improve performance and customer experience
- Define product roadmaps aligned to business strategy
- Use customer insights and data to improve products and services
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver digital banking solutions
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Performance Management
- Monitor and track performance of existing banking products
- Ensure continuous value generation and alignment with KPIs
- Identify underperforming products and recommend improvements
2. Digital Transformation & Automation
- Drive automation and digitization of retail banking products and services
- Improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, and increase revenue
- Promote adoption of digital financial services
3. Product Development & Lifecycle Management
- Manage end-to-end product lifecycle (design, pricing, launch, review)
- Develop and execute product roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders
- Coordinate pilots, testing, approvals, and product launches
- Validate prototypes with partners and internal teams
4. Data-Driven Product Strategy
- Analyze customer data to identify trends and behavioral insights
- Use insights to develop new features and improve user experience
- Monitor KPIs such as uptake, retention, NPS, and usage
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with IT, operations, marketing, and external partners
- Align product development with digital banking strategy
- Drive adoption of retail digital finance solutions
- Ensure smooth execution of product initiatives
6. Reporting and Business Intelligence
- Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports
- Present product performance updates for management and board meetings
- Provide insights for strategic decision-making
7. Customer Experience & Value Proposition Design
- Define customer value propositions for retail segments
- Develop bundled solutions tailored to customer needs
- Improve customer experience across all product touchpoints
- Enhance product usability and satisfaction
8. Process Improvement & Innovation
- Develop and improve product management standards and processes
- Identify opportunities for innovation in retail banking
- Lead campaigns and initiatives to improve product performance
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Master’s degree in:
- Banking
- Economics
- Commerce
- Business Administration
- Finance
- Accountancy
- Entrepreneurship or related field
Experience
- Minimum 16 years of experience in:
- Retail lending or mortgage finance
- Banking product management or financial services
- Experience in technology-driven financial products
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
