System Analyst (1 Position)

Job Purpose
The System Analyst is responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing system solutions, and supporting enterprise applications to ensure successful implementation aligned with organizational goals.
The role focuses on system projects, enhancements, integrations, testing, and operational support within the insurance systems environment. It serves as a critical link between business users, vendors, and the ICT team, ensuring systems meet operational, regulatory, and performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from:
- Underwriting
- Claims
- Finance
- Operations
- Management teams
- Prepare:
- Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
- Functional specifications
- Process flows
- User stories
- Conduct gap analysis and recommend practical system solutions
- Ensure adherence to change management procedures and documentation standards
2. Systems Development & Integration
- Implement small system enhancements, configurations, and automation tasks
- Support customization of:
- Core insurance systems
- ERP platforms
- Digital platforms
- Assist in:
- Data mapping
- Validation rules
- Workflow configurations
- Support API integrations across:
- Core systems
- Finance systems
- Mobile applications
- Third-party platforms
- Monitor integrations and resolve interface-related issues
- Collaborate with vendors on system upgrades and improvements
3. Testing & Quality Assurance
- Develop and execute test cases, including:
- Functional testing
- Integration testing
- Regression testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Coordinate and support UAT activities
- Log, track, and validate defect resolution
- Ensure solutions meet business and regulatory requirements
4. Application Support & Performance
- Provide second-level system support and troubleshooting
- Analyze recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions
- Monitor system performance and support optimization initiatives
- Maintain documentation of system changes, releases, and configurations
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Information Technology
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Insurance or related field
- Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in:
- System analysis
- Application support
- Enterprise system implementation
- Experience with:
- Core systems and ERP platforms
- Insurance or financial services systems (added advantage)
- Practical experience in:
- System development and enhancements
- Integrations and change management
- Strong understanding of:
- Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Database concepts and integration principles
- Working knowledge of:
- SQL and database querying
- API integrations (REST/SOAP)
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination
- High attention to detail
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications
