About the Role
The Technical Operator – Engineering is responsible for operating manufacturing machinery, ensuring efficient production, conducting routine maintenance, and maintaining quality, safety, and food safety standards within the production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Operate machinery to achieve production targets at rated speed.
- Monitor machine performance and production efficiency.
- Capture operational data accurately.
Quality Control
- Carry out Quality at Source (QAS) tasks.
- Maintain required quality standards throughout production.
- Promote food safety culture and compliance.
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform CILT activities (Clean, Inspect, Lubricate, and Tighten) on assigned equipment.
- Execute maintenance tasks on assigned machinery.
- Conduct root cause analysis using 5-Why or RCPS methodologies for equipment downtime.
- Implement LOTOTO (Lock-Out-Tag-Out-Try-Out) procedures during maintenance activities.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
- Ensure safe operation of machinery.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas.
- Complete shift hand-over reports accurately.
Performance Monitoring
- Record Short-Interval Control data.
- Monitor machine breakdowns and corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Process Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with utilities equipment is an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Machine operation and maintenance.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Quality assurance and food safety awareness.
- Preventive maintenance practices.
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving.
- Data recording and reporting.
- Workplace safety compliance.
